background
The spread of a "black pattern disease" in Jeju broccoli, which accounts for 70% of the nation's production, causes the leaves and stems to dry out, putting farmers on alert.

Jeju-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services explained that black fringe is spreading in broccoli in Aewol-eup and Hallim-eup, and that the temperature is high and it rains frequently from September to October this year, and frequent rain is predicted until early next month, raising concerns about the outbreak.

"If a disease is confirmed in the leaves or rainy weather continues, it must be intensively controlled with a dedicated disinfectant to reduce the occurrence of black pattern disease during the harvest season from December to February of the following year," he said.
