It has been confirmed that Cho Kyu-yeon, chairman of the May 18 injured, who was suspected of false academic background and controversy over his past history, recently attended the police and was investigated.
The Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency's Criminal Investigation Unit called Chairman Cho, who is suspected of violating the Debt Collection Act, as a suspect on the 24th.
Chairman Cho has been accused of calling late at night to urge his acquaintances on several occasions since September last year, saying he would not pay them back.
It was also found that he repeatedly used abusive language and even mentioned his family members while talking to the debtor on the phone.
In a police investigation, Chairman Cho is known to have generally admitted his charges.
Earlier, Chairman Cho said in a phone call with YTN that opponents of him are engaged in a public opinion war by inflating the issue, and that the reason he mentioned his family was because the debtor took the money to his daughter's bank account.
