53 vehicles as Manjong Intersection in Wonju, Gangwon-do

A series of crashes occurred on the way home from work in Wonju, Gangwon-do, where a heavy snow warning was issued.

More than 50 vehicles collided one after another, and the road turned into a chaos.

Multiple collisions occurred on the road toward the Wonju Enterprise City at the Manjong Intersection in Hojeo-myeon, Wonju-si, Gangwon-do.

Fire officials say 53 vehicles were involved in the crash, 11 injured and three of them were taken to hospital.

In the aftermath of the accident during rush hour, there was a serious traffic jam in the area.

At the time of the accident, the road had finished snow removal and it wasn't snowing much.

However, the first accident occurred on the downhill road, and it is likely that the following cars also had difficulty braking, leading to a series of crashes.
