Chungbuk Proposes Declaration of Special Disaster Zone in Eumseong 'Heavy Snow Damage'

Chungcheongbuk-do has proposed to the government that Eumseong-gun, North Chungcheong Province, which suffered heavy snow last month, be declared a special disaster area.

The damage in the Eumseong area compiled by North Chungcheong Province was more than 15 billion won, and the standard for declaring a special disaster area exceeded 12.5 billion won.

The Ministry of Public Administration and Security plans to conduct a preliminary damage investigation on the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and Eumseong-gun and review whether to declare a special disaster zone.

The special disaster area is a system that provides state funds to reduce the financial burden of local governments that have suffered massive disaster damage, and 12 items, including electricity and city gas charges, are provided to affected residents.
