Osan City held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Gyeongbu Railway Crossing Road, which connects Wondong and Nueup-dong on the south side of the site of the old Gyeseongjeji.
The road, which will cost 133.9 billion won, will be built with an extension of 1.54km and four to six lanes, and 30,000 nearby road vehicles will be dispersed when completed, the city predicted.
When this road is opened, the time required from Segyo District 2 to the entrance of Osan Interchange is expected to be reduced from 40 minutes to 20 minutes.
Mayor Lee Kwon-jae said, "It will serve as a bridgehead for the road network connecting the original city center divided by railroads and the Segyo district from east to west."
