Disney Entertainment Co-Chairman Dana Walden emphasized the impact of the success of the Korean original content "Moving" on Disney+.
Disney Content Showcase APAC 2024' (Disney Content Showcase 2024) was held in Marina Bay Sands, Singapore on the morning of the 20th (local time).
More than 500 reporters and partners from 12 countries in the Asia-Pacific region, including Korea, Japan, China and Australia, attended the site.
In his opening remarks, co-chairman Dana Walden said, "As can be seen from the case of 'Shogun', the best stories and global hits can be born anywhere. It is a good example of a work that captures authenticity without compromise, and the same is true of "Moving," an outstanding work by Kang Pul.
"APAC is a very important and dynamic region full of growth potential for the Walt Disney Company," he said. "I feel particularly excited and anticipated in the Asia-Pacific region, where you can discover richer stories and outstanding talents than any other region in the world. This is a place full of passion for excellent storytelling."

On the first day of the event, a number of Disney-affiliated studios, including Disney, 20th Century Studios, Searchlight Pictures, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, Lucasfilm, and Marvel Studios, were introduced.
Disney+, which launched its official service in South Korea in 2021, has released and confirmed more than 40 original content over three years through 2023. Among them, "Moving" topped the original drama outside of the U.S., with Disney+'s largest viewing in 2023.
