Police have decided not to send Choi Min-hwan of FT Island, a group accused of entering a prostitution business and forcing his wife to harass him.
The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul said on the 29th that it decided not to send Choi Min-hwan because it judged that there was insufficient evidence to prove the criminal charges against him, including the prostitution punishment law and forced harassment charges.
On the 24th of last month, Yul-hee, a former member of the girl group La Boom, Choi Min-hwan's ex-wife, raised suspicions about prostitution on YouTube, saying there was a problem with Choi Min-hwan's private life, causing a stir by releasing related transcripts.
Since then, a civil petition has been filed to investigate Choi Min-hwan's alleged violation of the Special Act on the Prevention of Prostitution, and the police launched an investigation last month.
Due to the controversy, Choi Min-hwan dropped out of KBS2's parenting entertainment show "Sudol," which he was appearing in, and the related video was deleted. FT Island will operate as a two-person system for the time being.
Yul-hee and Choi Min-hwan married in 2018, but divorced in December last year. He has three children.
