Scores of people have been killed and hundreds of thousands displaced by a series of heavy rains and storms in Southeast Asia and Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka's disaster management center says 12 people, including six children, have been killed and two remain missing due to the effects of heavy rains and cyclones that have continued in recent days.
It added that landslides and floods damaged more than 1,700 homes and displaced more than 400,000 people.
In Indonesia, where the rainy season is in full swing, landslides and floods have also caused a series of casualties, killing 27 people in North Sumatra alone for a week.
Flood damage has also occurred in Thailand and Malaysia, leading to flooding of homes and casualties.
Seven southern Thai states have also been flooded by recent heavy rains, flooding more than 1,800 villages and 136,000 homes, disaster officials said.
Major roads in the southern part of the country have been closed, rail operations have been suspended and school closures have been imposed, with the state of Narathiwat recording 1,100 millimeters of precipitation over the past seven days, with 502 millimeters of rain falling on the 26th.
