[Capture News] Targeting 'Trump, Harris'...中 Panic in U.S. 'Military Forces'

background
U.S. media, including the Wall Street Journal, reported that Chinese hackers had breached nine networks, including three major U.S. telecommunications companies, Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile.

It was analyzed that there is a possibility that it will increase further depending on the progress of the investigation in the future.

Hackers apparently infiltrated the network by targeting vulnerabilities in infrastructure, such as communication equipment from U.S. security firm Fortinet and relay devices from network company Cisco Systems.

Investigations have revealed cases of stealing management accounts without multi-level authentication protection, a basic security device, and obtaining access to more than 100,000 relay devices.

In this way, a group of Chinese hackers gained access to data from more than a million users, including calls from senior government officials.

Officials from U.S. President-elect Trump and Vice President Harris' presidential campaign have also been targeted, the Wall Street Journal said.

Investigations by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation and the FBI have already revealed that Chinese hackers have infiltrated computer networks such as airports and power generation facilities.

[Karyn Jean-Pierre / White House Press Secretary] We are closely following the case. We are working to identify measures to mitigate future risks to the U.S. government network.]

However, China completely denied allegations of cyberattacks and protested that the U.S. had started sanctions by spreading false information.

[Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Zakun] China firmly opposes this and will take necessary measures to protect its legitimate rights and interests.]

The Wall Street Journal pointed out that despite China's denial, hackers have now transformed into "military forces" that are at the forefront of the U.S.-China power game.
