Africa TV, Korea's leading live streaming platform, announced today (15th) that it will introduce a new name called "SOOP" for the first time in 18 years.
The introduction of the service name was designed to strengthen the convenience and connectivity of users through the establishment of an integrated brand for synergy between global and domestic platforms and the reorganization of UX∙UI.
Africa TV, which debuted in 2006 as a beta service called "W," has grown by introducing a culture in which streamers and users communicate in real time and enjoy various contents such as mukbang, music, games, and sports. Following the introduction of a new mission in March, SOOP launched its global platform "SOOP" in May to target the overseas streaming service market.
The new name 'SOOP' contains this will to change. SOOP (forest) means a free space where anyone can communicate with content anytime, anywhere, like the "forest" ecosystem that encompasses all components. The logo of the mission means that streamers and users are in the spotlight and communicate with the wider world. The color used "Essential Blue," which inherited Africa TV's blue identity.
The color of each service's logo symbol means a "platform that encompasses the forests of mountains and seas." Following the previously released "Energy Green," the logo color of the global service, the color of the domestic service logo was confirmed as "infinity blue," reflecting infinite possibilities and the value of free creation.
