Hotel employee sentenced to 6 years in prison for 'rape of guest using master key'

A hotel employee who sexually assaulted a female tourist after breaking into a room using a master key was sentenced to prison.

The Jeju District Court sentenced 39-year-old A to six years in prison on the charges.

Mr. A was put on trial in June on charges of sexually assaulting a Chinese tourist by breaking into the guest room with a master key.

The court said that even though A was obliged to protect guests as an employee of the accommodation facility, the sentence was sentenced in consideration of the heavy crime of committing the crime and not being forgiven by the victim.
