Accusators of Kim Gun-hee's acceptance of luxury bags and Deutsche Motors stock price manipulation have filed an appeal against the acquittal.

With the Prosecutor General saying he will directly lead the investigation into the appeal case, attention is being paid to whether the outcome of the disposition against Kim will be different.

Former Democratic Party lawmaker Choi Kang-wook, who accused Yoon Suk Yeol's wife, Kim Gun-hee, of manipulating Deutsche Motors' stock price in 2020, appealed to the prosecution's non-prosecution.

Former lawmaker Choi said in a 130-page appeal, "There are circumstances in which Kim is suspected of participating in stock price manipulation or similar cases found guilty," and asked the Seoul High Prosecutor's Office to reconsider.

He also said that the prosecution should find out whether it has tolerated Kim's crimes even by turning a blind eye to normal evidence, signaling that it will soon file a complaint against the prosecutors of the investigation team and demand an inspection from the Supreme Prosecutors' Office.

As the president's duties are broad, the job relevance of Pastor Choi Jae-young's request by handing over a luxury bag to Kim is recognized.

Earlier, the prosecution cleared all those involved, including First Lady Kim Gun-hee, on the grounds that the luxury bag case was not a request but a bribe handed over for filming.

The alleged manipulation of Deutsche Motors' stock price was also not indicted on the grounds that Kim knew about market manipulation.

An official at the Seoul High Prosecutor's Office explained that after reviewing the facts and the application of the law, if the appeal is reasonable, they can order a re-investigation or prosecution.

Prosecutor General Shim Woo-jung said during the last parliamentary audit that he would directly lead the investigation into the appeal case.

However, as the president has repeatedly said that he trusts the judgment of the investigation team of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, there are observations that the disposition against Kim is unlikely to be overturned.
