Among Vietnamese overseas workers working in many parts of the world, workers working in 'Korea' make the most money, according to a survey.
According to local media VN Express on the 4th, a recent report released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam examined the income level of Vietnamese workers who worked in countries around the world between 2017 and 2023.
As a result, the income of Vietnamese workers working in Korea was the highest, ranging from 1,600 to 2,000 dollars per month and about 2.2 million to 2.75 million won in Korean money.
This is about 33% higher than Japan's second highest income of $1,200 to $1,500 per month.
Taiwan and some European countries followed with $800 to $1,200 a month, and Malaysia and Middle East countries with $400 to $1,000 a month.
During this period, more than 650,000 Vietnamese overseas workers worked in 40 countries around the world and transferred $3.5 billion to their home countries annually.
The number of Vietnamese workers by country was the highest in Japan for five consecutive years until last year, followed by Korea and Taiwan.
About 80% of overseas workers in Vietnam are in labor-intensive industries such as textiles, shoes, construction, agriculture and fishing, housework, and caring for the elderly and patients.
