In addition, the Democratic Party of Korea held its first meeting of the "Stock Market Revitalization Task Force" to discuss follow-up measures in line with its plan to abolish the financial investment income tax.
Floor leader Park Chan-dae said he will make all-out efforts to normalize the stock market through legislation and stock market advancement policies, including amendments to the commercial law, and that he will produce legislative results by the end of this year.
When asked if he plans to deal with the amendment to the commercial law alone if the ruling party opposes it, he said he would persuade the ruling party enough, but he said he was determined to carry it out and would show it in action.
He also explained that he will discuss the need to restore the securities transaction tax following the abolition of the financial investment tax, saying that the National People's Power Party floor leader Choo Kyung-ho said it should be fully reviewed by the committee.
