Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky sent a congratulatory message to former President Donald Trump, who is likely to win the presidential election, asking him to continue supporting Ukraine.

"Congratulations to President Trump on his impressive election victory," Zelensky said in an X.

"I remember meeting with former President Trump in September to discuss in detail the 'victory plan', strategic partnership with the United States, and ways to end Russia's invasion," he said. "I appreciate President Trump's approach and commitment to 'peace through strength.'"

"This approach is a principle that can actually bring just peace to Ukraine," he said, adding, "We hope to put it into practice together."

President Zelenskyy stressed, "We look forward to a strong American era under President Trump's decisive leadership and hope that bipartisan support for Ukraine will continue."

"We are interested in developing mutually beneficial political and economic cooperation that benefits both countries," he said, adding that the U.S. and Ukraine will be looking forward to discussing ways to strengthen strategic partnerships.

During the presidential election, former President Trump has repeatedly guaranteed a "swift end" to the war in Ukraine through negotiations.

The specific method was not disclosed on the grounds of "strategic exposure," but the consistent argument is that the current Western arms and funding cannot resolve the war.

For this reason, it is predicted that if former President Trump returns to power, he will pressure the end of the war, which demands Ukraine's concessions.
