The government has come up with comprehensive measures to eradicate deepfake sex crimes that have recently spread like poisonous mushrooms.

In particular, the government decided to actively allow fake and private investigations by the police to track secret distribution and transactions.

In January, a deepfake obscene image of American pop singer Taylor Swift was circulated on social media.

The cutoff came after the scandal, but the number of views reached 47 million in just 17 hours.

Deepfake sex crimes are characterized by covert but fast spread.

As a result, the government has come up with all-round measures to quickly investigate and protect victims.

First, it was decided to include adult victims as well as the scope of the fake investigation, which was only possible if children or adolescents were victims.

In the case of a private investigation that does not reveal that he is a police officer or collects evidence by deceiving his identity, he needs prior approval now, but he is revising the relevant law to obtain post-approval in the future.

In addition, we plan to improve the practice of arresting investigations as a principle and low sentences in trials.

In addition, if the police check the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents, they will be required to request the relevant authorities to delete it, and the first deletion of related videos will be mandatory under the "pre-blocking post-deliberation" stance.

[Kim Jong-moon / First Deputy Secretary of State for Government Policy Coordination: In addition, if a business operator receives a request to delete an illegal video from the Korea Communications Standards Commission, the deadline for deletion will be specified in the relevant regulations to quickly delete it within 24 hours.]

The government said it would strengthen victim support and prevention education and continue to operate the 'Deepfake Sex Offenses Counter-Government TF'.
