Incheon City has decided to push for a "one-stop service to support self-reliance" so that young people who are ready for self-reliance who have turned 18 at a child welfare facility and have been protected can stand on their own feet stably.
Incheon City signed an agreement with Samsung Electronics in September to establish the "Samsung Hope Dimmingdol Incheon Center" to support housing, and plans to start operation in the first half of next year with 16 self-reliant living centers and 4 self-reliant experience centers after purchasing buildings.
In collaboration with the Incheon Regional Headquarters of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), Incheon City will also operate 15 officetels dedicated to young people preparing for self-reliance in Yeongjong and Nonhyeon areas.
In the field of employment support, we plan to sign an agreement with the Central Regional Employment and Labor Administration to provide customized employment programs in community spaces in residential facilities and systematically help from the preparation stage to post-employment monitoring.
The Incheon Metropolitan Government has increased the self-reliance allowance paid to self-reliance-ready young people, which can be received for five years from the end of the protection, to 500,000 won per month from this year.
Young people who have been protected in child welfare facilities and foster families can also receive a lump sum of 10 million won in self-reliance settlement funds supported by the city, county, and district budgets.
