SK Hynix Semiconductor Technology Leaked Chinese Jail for 1 Year and 6 Months

The Suwon District Court sentenced a Chinese woman in her 30s to a year and a half in prison and a fine of 20 million won for stealing SK Hynix's semiconductor technology.

The court emphasized that the semiconductor technology that Mr. A printed in writing at Hynix's Shanghai branch in China is a key national technology designated in 2022.

Considering that he printed a large amount of data just before leaving the company and got a job at Huawei, China, he said he could reasonably suspect that the leaked technology was for the purpose of technology leakage, but it was unclear whether the leaked technology was actually used.

Mr. A, who joined SK Hynix in 2013, printed out data related to the solution to the semiconductor process problem worth 4,000 sheets of A4 paper and siphoned it to the outside world.
