The North Jeolla provincial government has made it official that it will challenge to host the 2036 Summer Olympics.
First of all, it is expected to compete with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, which has expressed its willingness to attract.

The so-called "2036 Jeonju Olympics" presented by Jeonbuk is a festival that combines traditional culture and future high-tech technologies.

We are planning a low-cost and high-efficiency Olympics that will expand the Jeonju World Cup Stadium to use it as the main stadium and limit the average travel distance between stadiums to 33km while using 22 existing stadiums.
The estimated cost of the event is about 10.3 trillion won.
If the central government, local governments, and public institutions pay about 5 trillion won, the rest will be filled with IOC subsidies, sponsorships, and business profits.
The cost of hosting the 2024 Paris Olympics was $8.8 billion and about 12 trillion won.
Jeonbuk Province proposed to co-host the second Summer Olympics two years ago in Seoul, which declared its bid to host the second Summer Olympics, but they did not agree with each other, so they decided to hold it alone for now.
The domestic candidate city for the 2036 Summer Olympics will be decided around February next year.
