Drugs were detected in Liam Payne, a former member of British pop band One Direction, who died after falling from a hotel last month.

Argentine prosecutors who investigated Payne's death said on the 7th (local time) that "an autopsy found that Payne took a large amount of cocaine and prescribed antidepressants within at least 72 hours before his death."

The specific cause of death was revealed as multiple organ failure due to excessive bleeding.

On the 16th of last month, Payne died after falling from a room on the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

At the time, local police collected clonazepam, a stabilizer, containers of medicine, and whiskey from Payne's room. Clonazepam is a drug used to treat seizures or panic disorders and is treated as a psychotropic drug because of its dependence and the risk of misuse.

Prosecutors charged two people with handing drugs to Payne and charged one of Payne's companions with abandoning the body.
