Korea Communications Standards Commission-Home Shopping Industry Meeting... "Watch out for misrepresentation of consumers."

The Korea Communications Standards Commission met with the home shopping industry and asked them to pay attention to expressions that consumers may misunderstand about products.

Ryu Hee-rim, chairman of Korea Communications Standards Commission, held a meeting in Mok-dong, Seoul, today (21st) and met with representatives of product sales broadcasters, including the Korea TV Home Shopping Association.

Chairman Ryu said at the meeting that he is well aware of each broadcaster's efforts to comply with the deliberation regulations, but that he hopes it will help stabilize people's lives by paying attention to the expression of consumer misconceptions.

He also added that show hosts should be careful not to use expressions or profanity that harm viewers' ethical feelings or emotions.

Representatives of each company said they will try to come up with various measures to fulfill the social responsibilities of broadcasting, although they have recently faced difficulties, such as a decrease in TV home shopping sales every year.
