The Badminton Association directly refuted the government's findings that they violated the subsidy law, saying they followed the guidelines.

The Badminton Korea Association emphasized in a press release, "We applied and executed the violation of the promotion league and youth club subsidy law with the approval of the higher institutions in compliance with the guidelines of the Korean Sports Council and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism."

Earlier last month, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism demanded heavy punishment from association president Kim Taek-kyu and secretary general, saying the Badminton Association violated the subsidy law, and asked the police to investigate the allegation of breach of trust.
