Former spokesperson of the presidential office Jeong Hye-jeon held a briefing a while ago and pointed out that the opposition's push to impeach the auditor is the first in constitutional history, and that it undermines the foundation of the constitutional order.
He also said that if the Board of Audit and Inspection paralyzes the constitutional function of the Board of Audit and Inspection, it will not be able to prevent corruption and investigate flag disturbances, and the damage will go to the people.
Citing the reason for the Moon Jae In government's nomination of director Choi Hae-soo, he said that impeaching the auditor, who has independence from his duties, for not producing results that suit the opposition party's taste can only be seen as a political impeachment.
Regarding the impeachment of prosecutors, including the head of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, it is retaliation to impeach the prosecution's command for not having the results of the investigation as the opposition party wanted.
The head of the
party strongly criticized it for trying to neutralize the judicial system with the aim of stopping investigations and trials involving it.
Regarding the opposition's push for a permanent special prosecution, he said that it would monopolize the right to recommend the National Assembly, contrary to the principle of separation of powers of the legislature and the administration.
In other words, the Democratic Party intends to monopolize the recommendation of the special prosecutor's candidate and make it its own prosecution, stressing that it is a clear unconstitutionality that violates the separation of powers by undermining the political neutrality of the special prosecutor and violating the president's right to appoint him.
The opposition party also expressed its position on each of the controversial bills that were enforced at the plenary session yesterday,
The four bills under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Agriculture, including the
Grain Management Act, are already abandoned as bills that even producer groups are concerned about, adding to the financial burden and sticking to the rice supply glut.
He also said that passing it again seems to be intended to induce the president's right to request reconsideration.
An official from the presidential office hinted at President Yoon's veto, saying that the presidential office does not compromise on unconstitutional and illegal laws.
Former spokesperson Jeong Hye-jeon also pointed out that it is also a problem that the National Assembly revised the National Assembly Act to prevent it from being automatically added to the plenary session even after the legal deadline for budget review.
It contains anti-constitutional content that it will not meet the budget bill deadline set by the
Constitution, and pointed out that the people will see the damage caused by the delay in budget processing.
At the same time, he urged the opposition party not to turn a blind eye to people's livelihoods and to stop destroying state affairs.
