The prosecution appealed against the first trial ruling that acquitted Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, of perjury.

The court's judgment refutes that there is a clear misunderstanding of facts and a serious misunderstanding of legal principles, and a fierce battle is expected in the subsequent appeals trial.

The prosecution has filed an appeal against the first trial's judgment that found CEO Lee Jae-myung not guilty of perjury.

In light of the fact that the court ruling has been reviewed by filling the seven-day deadline for appeal, he expressed his objection unusually quickly four days after the sentence.

The prosecution stressed that there was a serious misunderstanding of the law in the first trial's ruling and that it needs to be corrected.

First of all, the Supreme Court's established law is to see the testimony as one, but the first trial broke it down and judged it individually.

He also argued that there were obvious misinformation that did not fit common sense and logic, rules of experience or similar cases.

While acknowledging that Kim Jin-sung's perjury was due to CEO Lee's teacher, it was wrong to judge that CEO Lee was not intentional and was only a normal request for testimony.

He then stressed that representative Lee demanded false testimony in the next trial, and that the court omitted judgment on this, even though it was clear that Kim accepted it.

[Lee Jae-myung / Democratic Party leader: I've talked about it, so take a look at it. Take a look.]

[Kim Jin-sung / Kim Byung-ryang, former secretary of Seongnam Mayor: I have to do something accordingly.]

Following the prosecution's appeal, the second trial at the Seoul High Court is expected to lead to a fierce legal battle over whether CEO Lee knew that Kim would perjure himself.
