The Suwon District Court ruled that the hotel should pay 950 million won in compensation in a lawsuit filed by victim A's bereaved family.
The court judged that the hotel's negligence was greater, citing the fact that the hotel did not have a parking lot manager and that it did not install at least three waiting stops for cars in mechanical parking lots under the current law.
On September 11, 2021, Mr. A died after falling 7.3 meters down in the mechanical parking lot of this hotel, and the bereaved family claimed 960 million won in damages.
At that time, A stopped the vehicle at the entrance of the mechanical parking lot and got off for a while, then got back into the driver's seat when the vehicle moved, and the car broke the parking lot door and crashed.
