Tetrapod, which is installed on the coast to prevent high waves, is also a popular spot for those who want to enjoy photography or fishing.
However, due to its unique structure, accidents that slide and fall are repeated, so caution is needed.
I'm reporter Ra Kyung-hoon from Ulsan Central Broadcasting Station, JCN.

Coast Guard and firefighters rescue a man who fell through Tetrapod.

A man in his 60s fell under Tetrapod after tripping while pulling out while fishing.
In the same place, another Tetrapod crash occurred in a month.
As such, crashes in Tetrapod are repeated every year.
Over the past five years, Tetrapod accidents have been occurring continuously in Ulsan.
This year alone, there have been two cases, one of which has also lost its life.
Tetrapods, which are designed to prevent high waves, often lead to casualties in the event of an accident due to their unique slippery surface and structure.
Tetrapods have a slippery surface and can fall down if possible, but they are deep and have a small space, making it difficult to get out on their own.

, the rescue is not easy, so we are increasing our responsiveness by training assuming real situations.
The height of the breakwater is up to 10m from the coast.
Accidents usually occur during taking pictures or fishing at night, but the space is small, and it is not easy to find rescuers if an accident occurs in the dark night.
[Han Ji-woo / Ulsan Dongbu Fire Station Rescue Team Firefighter: It is difficult to rescue because it is a dangerous area for rescue activities and there are not many secured materials to use the equipment. When fishing, it is best to wear a life jacket and let your family or acquaintances know the location.]
Dangerous activities on Tetrapod must be refrained, as the crash in Tetrapod is likely to lead to human casualties.
