I will explain it while watching the video of the accident scene secured by our YTN reporters.
A white car runs through a wall next to the railroad and into the track.
It doesn't slow down and hits it as it is.
Moments later, people on the track just before the crash with the descending train were also seen rushing out of the wall.
A nearby resident who was at the scene at the time of the accident said there was a loud bang.
Let's listen to it.
[Ko Young-tae / Neighborhood resident: I came out to throw away the garbage and heard a loud noise.... When I looked at the car, the front bumper was completely gone.]
The accident happened at 6:46 a.m. today.
A passenger car and an electric train collided between Geumcheon-gu Office Station and Seoksu Station on Metropolitan Subway Line 1.Two people, including a man in his 50s and a passenger, who drove a car in an accident called
, were injured and taken to the hospital.
At that time, a total of 300 people were on the train, but it was confirmed that no one was injured in the subway, including passengers or engineers.
The passengers got off at Geumcheon-gu Office Station at around 7:35 a.m., about 50 minutes after the accident, and transferred to another train.Train operations were partially delayed as one of the two descending tracks was closed to deal with the
accident, and operations normalized after 9 a.m.
Korail explained that the accident delayed eight KTX trains, nine regular trains such as Mugunghwa, and 20 electric trains by about 10 to 40 minutes.
According to a police investigation, a man in his 50s who drove a car was not drunk and behind the wheel.
The driver previously told police that a car accident at a nearby three-way intersection broke the brake, which was followed by a car that broke through the retaining wall and fell onto the track.
The driver and passenger reportedly got out of the car shortly after it broke through the wall and stopped on the track, avoiding further anger.
Police are investigating the exact cause of the accident against the driver and Korail.
