'KPGA Grand Prize' Jang Yoo-bin Abandoned PGA Challenge to Advance to LIV Golf
Jang Yoo-bin, who played as the best men's professional golf player in Korea this season, has entered LIV Golf sponsored by Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund instead of challenging the U.S. PGA Tour.

LIV Golf announced that the Ironhead GC team, where Korean-Americans Kevin Na and Korean-New Zealand Danny Lee are active, has recruited Jang Yu-bin.

Jang Yoo-bin, who won the grand prize, prize money, and the lowest at-bats at this year's KPGA Tour, even applied to the qualifying school to challenge the PGA Tour, but changed his mind to advance to LIV Golf.

The LIV Golf, launched in June 2022, features Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka of the United States, Sergio Garcia and Jon Rahm of Spain, and Jang Yu-bin is the first Korean player.

Jang Yoo-bin said, "I don't think there is only one way to become the best player in the world," adding, "I want to play on the PGA Tour someday if I have a chance."

LIV Golf, which is expanding its scope, plans to hold a competition at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club in Incheon in May next year that will cost $25 million in total prize money and 35 billion won in our money.
