Ahn Chang-ho, chairman of the National Human Rights Commission of Korea, said that the government should thoroughly investigate whether there have been human rights violations in connection with President Yoon Suk Yeol's declaration of martial law.
Chairman Ahn said in a statement today (11th) that all state powers are delegated by the people and should be exercised fairly and justly in a way that the people can understand in accordance with the procedures set by the Constitution and laws.
He emphasized that martial law was lifted thanks to the careful response of the National Assembly, citizens and soldiers who were dispatched to the scene, and that democracy in our society was firmly established.
