The first trial of Yang Kwang-joon, a 38-year-old active-duty army officer who damaged and abandoned his body after killing a fellow female military officer, will be held today (12th).
The Chuncheon District Court will hold its first hearing on Yang Kwang-joon, who was arrested and charged this morning.
Yang, who is scheduled to be promoted to lieutenant colonel, was put on trial on charges of killing a 33-year-old civilian A who worked in the same unit, damaging the body, and abandoning it.
The investigation found that Yang, who had a family, killed A and dumped the body around the Bukhangang River to prevent inappropriate relationships from being revealed while dating victim A.
Earlier on the 13th of last month, the police held a review committee on the disclosure of personal information and released Yang's name and photos.
