"Michigan picked Trump as the Person of the Year"

U.S. weekly news magazine Time will select U.S. President-elect Donald Trump for the "Person of the Year," political media Politico reported.

It is the second time Trump has been named Time's Person of the Year after winning the first U.S. presidential election in 2016, and Trump will ring the opening bell of the New York Stock Exchange on the morning of the 12th local time.

Time's Person of the Year finalists included Vice President Kamala Harris, who faced Trump in the presidential election, British Crown Prince Kate Middleton and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.

Time has already announced Caitlyn Clark of the U.S. Women's Professional Basketball Association as its athlete of the year, British singer Elton John as its icon of the year, and Lisa Su of Advanced Micro Devices as its CEO of the year.
