The National Police Agency's National Investigation Headquarters Special Investigation Team, which investigates the emergency martial law incident, said it is considering not only asking President Yoon Suk Yeol to appear, but also applying for an arrest warrant.
In a briefing today (13th), an official of the special police team said, "We have not yet asked President Yoon to attend," and that we are considering such a plan internally.
He also explained that it is in the process of reviewing whether to apply for a search warrant for the presidential residence and the communication details of President Yoon.Regarding the specific timing of the investigation into President
Yoon, he said, "It will be in time for the investigation to be organized, including police and military officials," adding that the necessary investigation is still ongoing.
He also said the president's office submitted some data at the time of the attempted raid, but it was insufficient, and that he was considering executing the existing warrant again or obtaining a new one and conducting additional raids.
He also explained that he is coordinating the date of the investigation with Prime Minister Han Deok-soo and former People's Power Floor Leader Choo Kyung-ho, saying that four members of the State Council, including Health and Welfare Minister Cho Kyu-hong, have completed the investigation as reference.
