Russian military bloggers reported on the 13th (local time) that North Korean troops dispatched to Russia killed 300 Ukrainian troops and recaptured Russian villages.
According to reports, the claim that the North Korean military attacked the town of Plyohovo, Krusk, a town bordering Ukraine, like a "hurricane" and killed more than 300 Ukrainian soldiers first appeared on the "Romanovs Light" Telegram.
Romanov wrote that North Korean special forces completed the operation in less than two hours on the 6th, and that "they (North Korean forces) did not take prisoners."
Oleg Charyov, a pro-Russian politician from Ukraine's parliament, said without much explanation that he was able to confirm the news, and claimed that the North Korean military was a reconnaissance unit armed with light weapons.
Other Telegram channels covering the war news have added details with similar news.
The channel 'Alex Parker Returns', which has 243,000 subscribers, credits the North Korean military with the occupation of Playhobo, claiming that the North Korean military carried out a 'bold raid' on the waters near the border with Ukraine.
Ukraine's defence ministry did not comment on the battle of Playhobo, which was said to have involved North Korean troops, nor did it answer questions from NK News.
However, a map produced by a non-governmental organization linked to the Ukrainian government showed that Russian forces had occupied Plyohovo, NK News said.
