Prime Minister Han Deok-soo became acting president due to the approval of the impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol, but summit diplomacy is unlikely to be possible.

With many major diplomatic issues, such as the launch of the second Trump administration, the summit diplomacy of major countries surrounding the Korean Peninsula has been forced to stop for the time being.

Prime Minister Han Deok-soo has started acting as the acting president, but the field where acting is virtually impossible is summit diplomacy.

It should be seen that no foreign leader wants to meet with the acting prime minister in a country where the presidency has been suspended.

It is uncertain whether daily diplomacy, let alone summit meetings, will be possible.

[Han Deok-soo/Prime Minister (last 10th): Please actively inform the international community that the state affairs of the Republic of Korea are operating consistently and normally through various channels, including diplomatic missions and foreign media.]

Direct communication with U.S. President-elect Trump, who will be inaugurated next month, is not expected to be easy.

There is also concern about the possibility that consultations between South Korea and the U.S. over the new North Korea policy in the early days of the Trump administration will lose power or our voices will be alienated.

The same applies to pending issues such as North Korea's nuclear issue, tariffs, and defense costs.

[Andrew Yeo/Brookings Institute (last 11th): South Korea will want to engage with the Trump administration as soon as possible on security issues related to economic security and deterrence against North Korea, but the current political crisis has made it much more difficult.]

Relations between Korea and Japan, which were preparing to leap forward to mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations next year, are also expected to hit a wall.

This is because, despite historical issues, President Yoon Suk Yeol, who is the party devoted to restoring shuttle diplomacy, cannot come forward.

The relationship between Korea and China, which was preparing for President Xi Jinping's visit to Korea for the first time in 11 years, has become more uncertain. As President

Yoon brought up the topic of Chinese espionage in his public conversation, a cooling atmosphere is flowing again in the Korea-China relationship, which was about to melt down.

[Maoning / Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson: We firmly oppose South Korea's fabrication of the so-called "Chinese spy" by linking domestic affairs with China-related factors and undermining normal economic and trade cooperation.]

Furthermore, the schedule and preparations for various summit diplomacy, including the APEC summit to be held in Korea next year, have become difficult to look ahead due to the important variables of impeachment of the president.
