U.S. "Israel notifies limited operations targeting Hezbollah infrastructure"

The U.S. State Department has confirmed that Israel has been notifying Israel of limited operations targeting Hezbollah infrastructure near Lebanon's border.

State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said in a briefing that Israel has a right to defend itself, including targeting the infrastructure of terrorist attacks inside Lebanon.

Miller added, however, that he ultimately wants to see a diplomatic resolution to the conflict.

Earlier, when asked about the possibility of Israel's limited ground war against Hezbollah inside Lebanon at a news conference on measures to deal with the hurricane, U.S. President Joe Biden said a ceasefire should be reached now.
