North Korea, U.S. Bomber B-1B Threatens "Response Action" on Armed Forces Day Deployment

In response to the reported deployment of the U.S. strategic bomber B-1B at the Armed Forces Day event today (1st), North Korea has threatened to take thoroughly corresponding action.

North Korean Defense Minister Kim Kang-il made the remarks in a statement released by the Korean Central News Agency, claiming that the deployment of the B-1B in South Korea is a bluffing show of force by the U.S.

He added that new ways of adding significant concerns to the security of the U.S. mainland must emerge, and that he will continue to improve strong war deterrence to proactively deal with unstable security situations.Called the

'Swan of Death', the B-1B can fly up to 12,000 km at a maximum speed of Mach 1.25, and can carry up to 57 tons of armament.The

B-1B will fly over Seoul Airport, where Armed Forces Day celebrations will be held, but the flight may be canceled depending on weather conditions, a ministry official said.
