The phone call between Netanyahu and Macron..."Our Sanctions Help Iran" vs "When We Cease-fire"

2024.10.07 오전 02:01
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told French President Emmanuel Macron that sanctions against Israel would help Iran and its proxies, Reuters reported.

The Israeli prime minister's office said in a statement that Netanyahu had spoken to Macron on the phone.

"Just as Iran supports all 'axis of terror', Israel's friends should support Israel," Netanyahu told Macron.

President Macron expressed his support for Israel to Netanyahu, but "expressed his confidence that it was time for a ceasefire," the Elysee Palace said.

Earlier, in a recent French media interview, President Macron said that the first thing to do about the Middle East conflict is to return to a political solution and that "we need to stop supplying weapons to fight in Gaza."

"Israel is defending itself on seven fronts against the enemies of civilization, but President Macron and other Western leaders call for a ban on arms exports to Israel," Netanyahu said in a video address, calling it "shameful."
