The U.S. presidential election is five weeks away.

Following the presidential candidate TV debate, this time the vice presidential debate took place:

I'm connecting you with a reporter from the international department. Reporter Hong Joo Ye!

This is the first TV debate of the vice presidential candidate in this presidential election, right?

[Reporter]
In the U.S. presidential election, it is customary to hold a TV debate for vice president once.

In addition, Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris calls for a second round of TV debate, but Republican former President Donald Trump refuses,

This will most likely be the last debate before the presidential election on the 5th of next month.Minnesota Governor

Tim Walz and Ohio Senator J.D. Vance face off for the first time in a vice presidential candidate TV debate.

The debate, organized by CBS, continued for 90 minutes from 9 p.m. Eastern time on the 1st and 10 a.m. Korean time today.

What questions did the candidates of both parties get asked?

[Reporter]
With Iran launching a large number of ballistic missiles at Israel, it began by asking if it supported Israel's pre-emptive strike on Iran.

Mr. Walz declined to give an immediate answer, questioning Mr. Trump's suitability for office and pointing out that he was too unstable to trust in a crisis in the Middle East.

On the other hand, Senator Vance said he would leave it up to Israel's judgment, arguing that former President Trump made the world safer during his tenure.

The two candidates were also asked about immigration, one of the main issues in the U.S. presidential election.

Senator Vance criticized the Biden-Harris administration for not implementing former President Trump's border policies, pointing out that fentanyl had flowed into the United States at record levels.

But Governor Walz responded that Vice President Harris was the California attorney general who prosecuted alleged human trafficking and drug trafficking in border areas.

Typically, vice presidential debates are not known to have a significant impact on the outcome of the election.

However, there are many voters who do not know much about the vice presidential candidates this time, so there is an analysis that this debate can decide whether to support them or not.

In addition, since this year's presidential election is so close, even a slight change in public opinion due to the debate may shake the counterweight.
