Sejong Mayor Choi Min-ho launches hunger strike calling for passage of budget bill

Sejong Mayor Choi Min-ho went on a hunger strike, urging the passage of the budget for pledge projects such as the International Garden City Fair and the Light Festival.

Mayor Choi revealed the background of the hunger strike, saying, "We cannot help but be disastrous at a time when the supplementary budget for the two projects, which were pledged projects, has not been passed by the city council for more than 40 days."

He then said he desperately hopes that the city council will deal with the supplementary budget by the 11th, the last deadline allowed to promote the summit of the Garden City Fair.

Chungcheongnam-do Governor Kim Tae-heum also visited the sit-in tent and said that the right to budget is superior to the right to deliberate, and that he does not know why the city council opposes the project approved by the state in advance.
