The Palestinian health ministry said a 12-year-old boy was shot dead by Israeli forces in the West Bank on the 7th local time, the first year of the Gaza war.
In Calandia, the central West Bank near Jerusalem, teenagers blocked roads and burned tires, confronting Israeli vehicles.
Israeli forces say violent protests erupted in the area during a counterterrorism operation in Calandia, and protesters threw stones at the site, endangering the operational forces.
Troops responded with measures to disperse protesters, fired live rounds at protesters, and were confirmed to be shot, it added.
Hundreds of Palestinians, including militants, stone-throwing teenagers and innocent civilians, have been killed in clashes with Israeli forces as violence has risen in the West Bank since the Gaza war.
Dozens of Israelis were also killed in Palestinian attacks.
