Florida, where a Category 4 hurricane "Hurlin" hit 10 days ago.

The village roads collapsed by strong winds are still covered with piles of debris.

So far, it has been recorded as the worst hurricane since Katrina in 2005, with over 230 deaths and 64 trillion won in property damage.

While the restoration has yet to begin, residents are piling up sandbags.

This is because the highest level, Category 5 Hurricane Milton, is about to make landfall.

[Liam / Florida resident] I'm going to pile up sandbags in my backyard because it's going to flood. This is to help my grandmother. I'm also planning to buy groceries in advance just in case.]

Milton, which already has maximum sustained winds of 250 km/h, is approaching southwest Tampa increasingly.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center said that only two hurricanes, Wilma in 2005 and Felix in 2007, had become so strong in a 24-hour period and feared major damage.

Florida's governor declared a state of emergency and ordered an evacuation of the hurricane's path.

[Ron DeSantis / Governor of Florida] State of emergency has been declared in 51 counties in Florida. An executive order was also issued to clear the debris of the earlier hurricane.]

Former President Trump is accusing the federal government of increasing hurricane damage due to its poor response, and the White House is making every effort to prepare for Milton, saying it will spare no support.

While Hurricane Hurlin has already wreaked havoc on presidential contenders Georgia and North Carolina, there is even speculation that a stronger Milton could be a presidential variable as it faces landfall.
