A major hurricane, Milton, made landfall on the west coast of Florida in the United States.

There are concerns that billions of dollars of damage will occur as a series of hurricanes and tornadoes occur everywhere.

I'm reporter Kim Do-won.

This is Hurricane Milton from the International Space Station.

Thick rain clouds with clear swirls covered the Gulf of Mexico.

Milton has weakened somewhat to a Category 3, but is still showing off forces with a central maximum wind speed of nearly 200km/h.

Eleven counties affected by Milton strongly advised residents to evacuate, calling it their last chance.

[Jane Castor / Mayor of Tampa, U.S.A. : We warned you enough in advance. There should be no deaths due to this storm. Please help the neighbors. If you can't get out, the government will provide you with a vehicle.]

In the run-up to Milton's landfall, a powerful tornado broke out everywhere in Florida.

Tornado warnings have been issued for more than 20 counties, and damage has continued, including the destruction of homes.

Orlando's Disney World and Universal Studios, which are expected to be directly affected by the hurricane, have been closed for safety.

[Nicholas Gertowski / Tourist (Tennesia): I've never been so close to a major hurricane in my life.]

With the aftermath of Hurricane Hurlin lingering, another large storm is feared to cause major damage.

Experts point out that "complex disasters" in which hurricanes occur one after another have become more frequent in recent years.

[Tracy Kijusky - Korea / Disaster Management Specialist: Recovery of past storms, even cleaning, is not done, but the next storm comes. If a series of storms occur quickly like this, the damage does not just combine, but increases exponentially.

Some estimate that the damage caused by the two hurricanes will reach billions of dollars.
