Foreign media reported on the 9th local time that hurricane "Kirk" also passed through Western Europe amid hurricane damage in the United States.

Authorities say a crew member was killed and one seriously injured after a storm over the Mediterranean Sea near the southern French port city of Sete overturned three ships.

Around 64,000 people across southern France suffered power outages due to the storm, according to local power suppliers.

Hurricane Kirk, which was once a Category 4 force, has gradually weakened its power, but it is still feared to cause additional damage such as flooding due to strong winds and heavy rain.

French authorities issued a flood warning for nearby areas as water levels on the Grand Morin River, a tributary of the Seine in Paris, rose sharply.

Damage continued in neighboring countries such as Portugal and Spain.

More than 400 trees were uprooted in Porto, northern Portugal, and vehicles were damaged and trains were disrupted in nearby Barcelus.

Across Portugal, more than 400,000 people suffered power outages as a result of heavy rains, local power providers said.

Spain's weather authorities also issued a strong wind warning in the northwest, saying strong winds with maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour could blow.
