In the National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee's parliamentary audit of the National Police Agency, the People's Power lawmakers focused on the investigation of former President Moon Jae In's daughter Da-hye's drunk accident.

In addition, the Democratic Party of Korea took issue with First Lady Kim Gun-hee's inspection of Mapo Bridge and engaged in a slugfest between the ruling and opposition parties over the family of former and current presidents.

At the National Police Agency's parliamentary audit by the National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee, lawmakers of the People's Power opened by criticizing the drunk driving accident of former President Moon Jae In's daughter Da-hye.

We asked Cho Ji-ho, the police chief, intensively whether Moon could be charged with "dangerous driving injuries" unlike ordinary drunk driving if he drove dangerously while intoxicated.

[Bae Joon-young / People's Power: Is it included in the case (dangerous driving injuries) that the director just mentioned? Please tell me clearly.]

[Jo Jiho / Commissioner of National Police Agency: We can review it with that provision]Some even argued that

Moon should be publicly summoned, but others urged restraint, asking if it was a 'Moon Da-hye hearing.'

[Lee Sung-kwon / People's Power: I'm giving you the opinion that there needs to be coordination (about public summons) because he's the daughter of the former president.]

[Shin Jeong-hoon / Chairman of the Public Administration and Security Committee (Democratic Party of Korea): That's enough, it's not even Moon Da-hye's confirmation hearing... [Why are you doing this now?]

In response to the request for a public summons, Commissioner Cho expressed his position that a closed-door investigation is a principle.

[Jo Ji-ho / Commissioner of Police: It's a principle, so it's better to follow the principle (Yongsan Police Station, right?). If there is a threat to the safety of the person present, then it is a matter that can be reviewed.

Members of the Democratic Party of Korea focused on the offensive against First Lady Kim Gun-hee.Mrs.

Kim strongly criticized the Mapo Bridge last month for asking the police to respond preemptively.

[Lee Kwang-hee / Minjoo Party member: It was like a field inspection of a ruler. In the process, suspicions were raised that the vehicle was controlled on the way home from work.]

The police chief's answer that there was no traffic control at the time of the first lady's inspection was disclosed and refuted the 112 report received on the same day.

[Lee Hae-sik / Democratic Party member: I chose this time to visit the Chuseok holiday, but I think they would have controlled the traffic. You controlled the traffic, didn't you?]

[Jo Ji-ho / National Police Agency Commissioner: We have never controlled traffic on Mapo Bridge.]

[Lee Hae-sik / Minjoo Party member: You can be honest. You shouldn't say that you cooperated because the president's wife came.]

Critics say that the parliamentary audit, which should be discussed over the duty of the police, has become a venue for political disputes against the family of former and current presidents.
