A meeting of experts to support premature babies was launched... "One out of ten premature babies."

In order to strengthen support for premature babies, the Ministry of Health and Welfare launched an "Experts Meeting" involving medical experts and parents raising premature babies and held its first meeting.

The conference will review the effectiveness of the pilot project for continuous management of premature babies, which has been in effect since 2021, to discuss the business transition plan, and to expand medical expenses for premature babies and congenital abnormalities.

Babies born less than 37 weeks into pregnancy or less than 2.5 kilograms in weight are classified as premature babies, and one in 10 domestic babies is born prematurely.
