The Supreme Prosecutors' Office has set up a dedicated organization to respond to new digital sex crimes.

The digital sex crime response organization under the Supreme Prosecutors' Office held its first meeting yesterday (14th) to discuss future activities.

The dedicated organization consisted of eight people, including the prosecutor of the front-line Women and Children Crime Investigation Department, and the team leader was headed by Park Ji-na, the 4th detective of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office.

The dedicated organization aims to create guidelines for the investigation and handling of new digital sex crimes, including deepfakes, by February next year.

An official of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office explained that it is part of preparing effective countermeasures against digital sex crimes and sternly responding to crimes that violate people's livelihoods.

Prosecutor General Shim Woo-jung promised to strengthen the front-line criminal department investigating crimes that violate people's livelihoods when he took office last month, and accordingly, an organization dedicated to strengthening the criminal department was launched last month.
