A day after comedian Lee Jin-ho confessed to illegal gambling on the Internet through a statement, the police launched an investigation before the charges were filed.

While posting an article on Lee's gambling, a civil petition asking for an investigation came into the National Newspaper, and the case was handed over to the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul.

The pre-booking investigation refers to the pre-formal investigation, the internal investigation stage, and the internal investigation.

The police plan to contact Lee first to check the basic facts.

However, as Lee himself admits to illegal gambling, he is expected to switch to the formal investigation stage soon.

Lee is said to have borrowed money from fellow celebrities, including BTS members Jimin and Lee Soo-geun, and has also extended his hand to loan companies.

However, some doubt the connection with illegal companies, saying that it would have been difficult for even celebrities to borrow a large amount of money without collateral.

[Loan company official: You can't do that in a normal loan company. Illegal, in simple terms, there are places that are known as 'maksaengs', right? It's a normal place if you're registered with the loan business association, but it would be a problem if you rented it from a place that isn't....]

The police plan to check the details of Lee's huge debt and investigate the overall size of illegal gambling and whether other celebrities were involved.
