Hwang Joon-guk, the ambassador to the United Nations, expressed concern about North Korea's dispatch to Russia, saying that the North Korean military could become a bulletproof aid and that the money the soldiers should receive from Russia would fall into Kim Jong-un's pocket.
At a UN Security Council meeting held at the UN headquarters in New York, U.S., Ambassador Hwang said, "As a Korean people, I personally feel compassion for them."
Ambassador Hwang said they could have enjoyed a much better life if they were born south of the armistice line, and pointed out that the North Korean regime, which uses its citizens as consumables, should never be forgiven.
Ambassador Hwang said that military cooperation between North Korea and Russia violates U.N. Security Council resolutions and feared that unprecedented military cooperation between North Korea and Russia would change geopolitics in both Eurasia and East.
He added that South Korea will work closely with the international community to respond firmly to illegal military cooperation between North Korea and Russia and take measures corresponding to the development of the situation.
