Prime Minister Han Deok-soo said he will focus on customized measures this year for new causes of ignition, such as electric vehicle and battery-related facilities, personal mobile devices, and unmanned stores.
Prime Minister Han said today (31st) that he will hold a meeting of ministers related to state affairs at the Seoul Government Complex and operate it from tomorrow to February next year as a "winter fire safety measure period."
In particular, he explained that he will expand and deploy suppression equipment such as mobile tanks to manage the safety of electric vehicle fires, develop unmanned fire trucks, and deploy them at the site by next year.
It also added that it will strengthen safety management standards for facilities that store or handle lithium batteries and develop fire extinguishing drugs that are highly responsive to lithium battery fires.
Prime Minister Han also asked related agencies to conduct a thorough joint inspection and establish a quick rescue and rescue system so that the event, which attracts large crowds in the fall, can proceed safely, saying that today is Halloween and a fireworks festival is scheduled in Busan next week.
