The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul is investigating a 20-year-old U.S. soldier who stole a mini Cooper that had been stopped in an alley in Sinsa-dong, Seoul at around 1:30 a.m. on the 29th and drove 50 kilometers to Osan City in Gyeonggi Province without a license.
Mr. A was found to have run away without doing anything after hitting a taxi and injuring the driver during the crime, and charges such as follow-up measures and escape injuries were also applied.
The police tracked the route based on the vehicle number, arrested Mr. A near the U.S. military unit in Osan, Gyeonggi Province in the early morning of the same day, and handed over the recruits to the U.S. Forces Korea.
In a police investigation, Mr. A stated that he stole a car that was turned on and drove to quickly return to the unit.
